Made it!

After 24 hours of traveling, I am in Beijing with my amazing team members! My first flight was delayed for 4 hours while they changed a tire. That meant I missed my next flight and had to find another one that would get me to San Fransisco in time. It was a little stressful but God worked it out perfectly so that I ran into my team just as they were coming through security. The long flight was…long but we’re rested up now and ready to fly to Maria’s today!

My roommate, Maddie, and I enjoyed showers, along with a hot hotel room, hard bed, and no sheets. Roughing it in our 5 star hotel. 🙂

7 hours to go!

I’ve counted down the months, weeks, and days, and now my trip to China is only a few hours away! Today at work, it was hard to focus on organizing paperwork, captioning videos, and changing printer toner.

Tonight, I finished my last minute packing. It took me most of the day yesterday to pack thanks to how easily distracted I am. My littlest sister was my packing “helper,” which meant we listened to music and danced around together with my suitcase sitting nearby. After my suitcase was packed, she pointed out that my suitcase weighs more than she does.

As I’ve prepared for my trip, I’ve been amazed by all the people who have been eager to support me. I’m so thankful for my family, church family, friends, and teammates (who I’m so excited to finally meet!) who have prayed for me and encouraged me! I’m so excited to see what God has planned for the next 11 days! I’ve already seen Him working in incredible ways the past few months–this trip wouldn’t be possible without Him.

Please continue to pray for our team, the kids in the orphanage, and the other people we’ll meet.
